Asus PadFone X: First Impressions
Companies often blend old products to give you something new.
This summer, AsusTek Computer Inc. claims you don't need both a phone and a tablet - as long as you get its new PadFone X. The PadFone works like any other phone and has a screen that measures 5 inches diagonally. When you want a tablet experience, you simply slip the phone into a slot on the back of the tablet display, which is included. All the apps on the phone now work on the 9-inch tablet. The phone is what runs the tablet. Asus is bringing this concept to the U.S. for the first time.
Nissan Note Nismo Revealed
The first official pictures of the Nissan Note Nismo are out and it's slated to go on sale later this year. This is the fifth model to be offered with the Nismo treatment. The sporty version of the Note will be will be available in two versions - Nismo and Nismo S - and promises to be a pocket-sized rocket in terms of performance.
The Note Nismo differs from the standard model in terms of a modified front and rear bumper, custom front grille, a roof spoiler, red caps of the electronic folding side mirrors and side sill protectors.

2015 Polaris Slingshot Revealed
We showed you the teaser video that Polaris released recently; the video caught a few reactions to the Slingshot. Now, the company has fully revealed the car along with yet another video that shows what the Slingshot is capable of.
We can't help but notice that the Slingshot looks basically like the KTM X-Bow, but where the X-Bow has four wheels, the Slingshot gets only three. The three-wheeler maniac will go up against the Campagna T-Rex and other similar 3-wheelers.
24-Karat Gold iPhone 6 Is Already up for Pre-Order
Apple's rumoured iPhone 6, expected to be launched in two variants - 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch, might be still months away from its official launch. However, this has not stopped a luxury accessory maker, Brikk, to start taking pre-orders for the 24-karat gold iPhone 6.
The official Brikk site lists the yet-to-be-announced iPhone 6 in Black and White colour variants for the seams, different precious metals for the body, and choice of a diamond-covered or plain Apple logo. Interestingly, the official listing (first reported by Gizmodiva) of the company's Lux line of Gold, Platinum and Pink Gold iPhone 6 models notes, "The Lux iPhone 6 will be released in September or October. It has a thick layer of pure 24 karat yellow gold covering all areas of the iPhone 6."

iPhone 6 Could Cause 10 Percent Price Hike by Other OEMs: Report
A recent report claimed that Apple had asked suppliers to manufacture between 70 million and 80 million of its two forthcoming large-screen iPhone models by the end of the year, which is believed to be the company's largest initial production run of iPhone handsets.
Now, a Chinese report, first picked by GforGames, suggests that the massive order by Apple could lead to price hike of 5 to 10 percent by other handset OEMs (original equipment manufacturers). The report claims that the price rise will be levied after the next iPhone will debut, and speculates that the OEMs are likely to pass on the increase to the consumers.
Retina MacBook Pro Lineup Refresh Brings Faster CPUs, More RAM Standard; India Prices Slashed
Apple has refreshed its lineup of Retina MacBook Pro laptops, giving each model a speed bump and an increased amount of RAM by default. Further, the India prices of all Retina MacBook Pro variants have been slashed, with most models receiving a Rs. 5,000 price drop, while the most expensive variant has seen its price cut by Rs. 20,000. The non-Retina MacBook Pro has received a price drop of Rs. 11,000.
All 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro laptops will now come with 8GB RAM standard. Earlier, the 256GB and 512GB SSD storage variants came equipped with 8GB RAM, while the entry-level 128GB model had 4GB RAM standard. The 128GB and 256GB SSD storage variants will now come with 2.6GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, instead of the 2.4GHz processor they earlier came with. The 512GB SSD variant gets a speed bump from 2.6GHz to 2.8GHz.

Hyundai ix35 Sets Record for Longest Trip on a Single Tank of Hydrogen
Hyundai announced that the ix35 Fuel Cell now holds the record for the longest journey completed by a hydrogen-powered production car. In a journey that took no less than ten hours, the vehicle was driven from Oslo, Norway to Malmo, Sweden via Gothenburg, Sweden and Copenhagen, Denmark. The car covered a distance of 700Km on a single tank of hydrogen.
Google Maps Update for iOS Brings Enhanced Search Results and More
Google has updated its Maps app for iOS to version 3.2.0, bringing the ability to show search results with descriptions right on the map. The company says this will help users 'make choices quickly'.
The app also brings a reworked Explore feature; now a local guide will show different places and activities for users to try out depending on the location and time. Also the reservations and important appointments put up from a Gmail account will also be displayed directly on the Google Map.

iPhone 6 5.5-Inch Model Facing Yield Issues, Launch May be Pushed to 2015: Analyst
It seems nothing is going Apple's way when it comes to the next iPhone's production. A recent report suggested that the company might face component yield issues in an attempt to meet the thin form factor of the iPhone 6.
Now, KGI Securities' analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that due to production issues, the launch of the alleged larger iPhone 6 variant, believed to be the 5.5-inch model, may be delayed to next year. He adds that in any case the phone is indeed launched in October, it is likely be available in limited quantities.

Apparently four guys in San Jose, California, have thought about that very question, so they’ve launched a crowdfunding project to bring a unique type of watch to the masses.
The Ritot is touting itself as the world’s first “projection watch.” More specifically, it’s a bracelet that looks sort of like a Fitbit Flex and uses a pico projector to display the time and various smartphone notifications on the back of your hand.
Who needs sights anymore? DARPA has just developed self-guiding bullets
If you thought TrackingPoint’s computerized target tracking system was crazy, get a load of this: DARPA, the advanced research wing of the US Department of Defense, has developed a prototype for a self-guiding bullet. These things can literally redirect themselves mid-flight to ensure they hit their target, even if thrown off course by high winds or a shooter error.
As part of its Extreme Accuracy Tasked Ordnance (EXACTO) program, DARPA recently conducted the first successful live-fire tests demonstrating in-flight guidance of .50-caliber bullets. The video below video shows these special EXACTO rounds maneuvering in flight to hit targets that are offset from where the sniper rifle is aimed.

LG Display Unveils 18-Inch Flexible Display
LG Display Co. has developed an 18-inch flexible display that can be rolled into the shape of a thin cylinder, a step toward making a large display for flexible TVs.
The South Korean display panel maker said Friday the flexible display has a resolution of 1200 pixels by 810 pixels and maintains its function when it is rolled up.

Adidas Fit Smart Fitness Band Announced With miCoach App as Personal Trainer
Fitness is the new buzz in town. Adidas on Wednesday announced a new fitness wristband dubbed Fit Smart; an activity tracker designed for running, training, and fitness that is paired with the company's miCoach fitness app. The company has priced it for $199 (approximately Rs. 11,800) and will release in mid-August in the US, and in rest of the world from August 15 through Adidas' website, and from September 1 through Adidas Sports Performance stores.
Micromax Canvas Fire Now Available Online; Canvas Beat Officially Listed
The Micromax Canvas Fire (A093) is now available at Rs. 6,999 via an e-commerce website, but has yet to be officially announced by the company. In addition, the Canvas Beat, which initially launched in Russia in January, has been listed on the company's India site.
An established retailer on Wednesday had claimed that the new Android 4.4 KitKat-based Canvas Fire will be announced at a price point of Rs. 6,299. It's worth mentioning that since the Canvas Fire has been listed on a third-party online store, one cannot be certain if this will be the official launch price when the Canvas Fire is unveiled in India.
The Canvas Fire (A093) runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat out-of-the-box, and joins the other KitKat-based Micromax phones - Bolt A069, Canvas Entice, Canvas Engage, Unite 2 (Review | Pictures) and therecently launched Canvas Gold.
Rolls-Royce's Global Sales Up by 33 Per Cent
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, the British luxury car marque, has recorded a good 33 percent rise in its half-yearly sales compared with the corresponding period in 2013.
Though the sales growth was seen in all regions, in Europe, Asia Pacific and Middle East it was up by 60 per cent, 40 per cent and 30 per cent, respectively. The united states and China too saw double-digit growth.

Spice Retail has launched its first smartwatch, the Spice Smart Pulse M 9010. The smartwatch features dual-SIM support along with voice calling. Priced at Rs. 4,999 (MRP), the Spice Smart Pulse M 9010 will be available with an MOP of Rs. 3,999 via HomeShop18 from July 11.
The Spice Smart Pulse M 9010 supports 2G dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) and runs the company's proprietary Java-based operating system. It can be paired with Android smartphones via BT notifier app (download apk) offered by Spice. Once paired with a smartphone, users will be able to see notifications, receive calls, view call logs, read and write SMS, remote camera capture and music streaming.
